The Fred Frean Trust was set up in recognition of the work for the school by Fred Frean, Principal of the Secondary Department of the then Ruawai District High School.

The Scholarship is available to any current Ruawai College student to encourage them to remain at college to further their education, or current and past Ruawai College students who wishes to further their education at any tertiary institution in New Zealand or Overseas.

• Must be a former/current student of Ruawai College
• Be currently enrolled in, or accepted into, a recognised tertiary education programme, polytechnic course, or other approved apprenticeship/training

• Funding decisions are focused on the student’s educational pathway. Family circumstances are not taken into consideration.
• Funding may be used for expenses related to your current study, such as accommodation, equipment, uniforms, course materials, or other study-related costs.

Once your application has been received, it will be considered by the Trust and you will be advised of the outcome. If your application is successful, the approved funding will be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.
